In 2013 Bayer Healthcare completed construction of their 650,000 square foot, $130 Million, United States Headquarters in Whippany, New Jersey. The facility houses 2,400 employees and was specifically designed to be environmentally friendly. In 2014 it was granted LEED Platinum classification by the United States Green Building Council. CoolSys Energy Design, a leading partner with the New Jersey Clean Energy Program, was hired to obtain incentives for the energy efficient design and equipment incorporated into the new facility including high efficiency lighting, HVAC, and building envelope materials. As Bayer’s selected partner, CoolSys Energy Design submitted computer energy simulations to the New Jersey Pay for Performance Program and successfully obtained over $1.1 Million in clean energy incentives for Bayer.
